Solubility: Reacts violently with water to form sodium hydroxide and ammonia, and decomposes in hot alcohol.
Stability: Unstable in air, easily oxidized. When heated, it is oxidized to form sodium hydroxide, sodium nitrite, and ammonia.
Uses
Organic synthesis: It is used as a condensation accelerator, dehydrating agent, dehalogenating agent, alkylating agent, and aminating agent in organic chemical reactions, and is a raw material for the synthesis of vitamin A.
Industrial production: It is commonly used as a surfactant and emulsifier, used in the detergent, cleaner, dye, and pigment industries. It is also a raw material for manufacturing paints, resins, plastics, and adhesives.
Metal surface treatment: It can be used for metal surface treatment, such as silver plating, copper plating, and zinc plating, to improve the corrosion resistance and aesthetics of metals.
Other fields: It is used in the manufacture of azides, cyanides, indigo, and hydrazine, as well as raw materials for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals.
Packaging and Storage
Packaging: It is packaged in a square iron box with two layers of polyethylene plastic bags lined inside, sealed with resin, or in an iron drum with a polyethylene plastic bag lined inside.
Storage: Store in a cool and dry warehouse. Keep it sealed to prevent moisture. Avoid contact with air, water, and fire to prevent explosion and fire. The storage time should not be too long.

Sodium amide dust is toxic and can cause corrosive burns, severely irritating the eyes, skin, and respiratory system.
When dealing with spilled materials, wear a gas mask and gloves. Mix with dry sand and send it to an open area. After reacting with a large amount of water, discharge it into the wastewater system.
